Who We Are
Drug-ARM (Awareness and Relief Movement) is a Christian charitable trust based in Christchurch with the mission of “bringing life, wellness and hope for people struggling as a result of drug and alcohol abuse.” We offer practical help and support to deal with problems associated with drugs and alcohol through counselling and group support, street outreach, creative based support groups at our ‘Art East’ Studio, community education and work within the prison system.
Since 1996, we have journeyed with a diverse range of people from various settings, helping them feel safe and empowered to face their struggles with substance abuse, make changes, and form strong, positive connections with the community..
Focus on prevention & breaking cycles
Drug-ARM’s services allow us to work across the spectrum, from young people who are only beginning to experience drug and alcohol-related problems to adults who have chronic addiction issues. The effects of substance abuse continue to be far-reaching and destructive, especially for at-risk families and poverty-stricken communities, and research on generational cycles of abuse supports this. One person making a change can have positive ripple effects that impact not only on them, but on their whanau for generations to come.
