Education and Training
Education is a key component in helping young people form opinions about substance use and abuse. Drug-ARM aims to be involved in both the development and delivery of reality based drug education and life skills. We work in the community to deliver relevant education seminars for staff or client groups.
Our focus with education is with individuals or small group work. We have found it is better to deliver high quality intensive education for those who need it, rather than undertaking large group presentations where at-risk students will often be overlooked. We do provide larger group education workshops by request for community agencies such as parent support groups or employers.
In addition, we also facilitate adult programmes that aim to assist those struggling with addictions. People on our programmes are educated about the effects of drugs and alcohol on them personally as well as on those around them. They also learn to identify what challenges they may face and what opportunities they can make use of, to help them make positive changes in their lives.
